Smoke detectors and a sprinkler system are located in each guestroom.
In addition to the guestroom alarms, there are general alarms throughout the resort. They are located in public areas, guestroom floor hallways and all work areas.
These alarms are activated by four different devices: smoke detectors, heat detectors, pull boxes and water pressure sensors throughout the automatic sprinkler system.
When a general alarm is activated, follow the procedure outlined on the fire evacuation chart located on the back of your guestroom door. If an evacuation of an area is required, the Resort Staff will facilitate a physical evacuation of the affected area. If you are notified, you should cooperate fully with the Resort Staff and follow them in an orderly manner to the designated exit.
If you are in an affected area, move to the nearest stairwell exit and leave the resort facility.
If you are in your room, take your key and close the door behind you. Move to the nearest stairwell (do not use the elevators) and descend. NEVER GO UP. When you reach the lowest level, exit the resort facility.
Once the cause of the alarm has been identified, the Fire Department will advise management when it is safe to re-enter the resort facility. Resort staff will assist you. Remember, as soon as an alarm is activated, trained personnel automatically respond and notify the Fire Department.
Reminder: Please consult the fire evacuation chart located on the back of your guestroom door.
Try to remain calm. Look for the safest place at hand and move carefully towards it. You may not be able to control your movement while there is shaking, but take a safe spot as soon as possible.
• If you are inside the building when an earthquake occurs, remain inside. Injuries result when people are struck by falling bricks and glass as they try to exit.
• Stay away from tall furniture such as china cabinets, bookcases and shelves.
• Windows, mirrors and glass vases are hazards and should be avoided.
• Cover your head and eyes and crouch against a strong interior wall. Avoid loose partitions.
• Extinguish all cigarettes, burners or open flames of any type.
• Do not become part of a crowd rushing to get out. Remain in your guestroom, or if you must leave — stay calm.
